During a recent interview with talk show host Larry King, Dan Aykroyd spilled some intriguing new details about Ghostbusters 3. The actor-screenwriter teased that the story is based on particle physics research being done at Columbia University.
Dan Aykroyd also revealed that, while Bill Murray currently has no plans to reprise his role as Dr. Peter Venkman, they are still holding a spot for him in the cast, should he have a change of heart.
The actor also said that there is a role for Larry King, who starred as himself in the original Ghostbusters.
Ivan Reitman is directing from a screenplay by Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg, although it isn’t known when production may begin. There is a rumor that Sony may try to get this sequel in theaters next year, in time for the original Ghostbusters’ 30th anniversary.

The Tudors star Jonathan Rhys Meyers is reportedly in talks for an unknown role in the highly-anticipated sequel Star Wars: Episode VII. If a deal is made, the actor will reunite with his Mission: Impossible III director J.J. Abrams.
No story details have been revealed yet, but Michael Arndt (The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Toy Story 3) is currently working on the screenplay.
Back in March, George Lucas confirmed that the original Star Wars trilogy stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher are returning for Star Wars: Episode VII.

Production has begun on Star Wars Rebels, an exciting, all-new animated television series based on one of the greatest entertainment franchises of all time. Scheduled to premiere in fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel, it will be followed by a series on Disney XD channels around the world.
The action-filled series is set between the events of Episode III and IV — an era spanning almost two decades never-before explored on-screen. Star Wars Rebels takes place in a time where the Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy and hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights as a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking shape. Star Trek Into Darkness is just beginning its theatrical run, taking in an impressive $70.5 million this weekend. Fans can already pre-order this sci-fi sequel from director J.J. Production on Marc Webb superhero sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has hit day 73 and the director has shared yet another photo from the set. This inside look features a mysterious looking laboratory door with a gun and holster lying on the floor. Addtionally, two other photos have surfaced showing Spiderman (Andrew Garfield) taking a ride on the front of a pickup truck while fighting The Rhino (Paul Giamatti).

Universal Pictures has released the first TV spot for Robert Schwentke’s comedic horror project R.I.P.D.Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds star as two Rest In Peace Department officers, who protect and serve the living from a group of unruly souls, who refuse to move peacefully to the other side. This first look shows the rookie officer meeting his new veteran partner for the first time.
Bingbing Li has joined the cast of Michael Bay’s upcoming sci-fi sequel Transformers 4.
The addition marks the first Chinese actor to join the project with numerous more to follow. She will soon be joined by other famous actors as well as a number of newcomers being recruited from a scouting competition.
Bingbing Li is best known for playing Ada Wong in Paul W.S. Anderson’s Resident Evil: Retribution. She will also be seen as Blink in Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past.

Antonio Banderas is set to star in Patricia Riggen’s upcoming dramatization of the 2010 Chilean mine cave-in The 33.
The miners spent 69 days trapped underground, while workers on the surface worked around-the-clock the rescue them. Antonio Banderas will be portraying Mario Sepulveda, the charismatic miner also known as Super Mario. Martin Sheen and Rodrigo Santoro are also attached to star.
Patricia Riggen is directing from a script by Mikko Alanne and Jose Rivera. Mike Medavoy, who announced the casting Sunday at Cannes, is producing alongside Edward McGurn.
Antonio Banderas will next be seen in Robert Rodriguez’s sequel Machete Kills.
Production is scheduled to begin in the fall in Chile.
